Conservation Volunteers New Zealand (CVNZ) welcomes everyone who shares our love of the outdoors and our commitment to conserving the environment to help us celebrate our upcoming 10 year anniversary in New Zealand.

To celebrate 10 years of conservation in New Zealand, CVNZ would love you to join us at our community planting day at Atiu Creek Regional Park on the Kaipara Harbour. On Saturday 13th August we will have a day of planting natives trees and shrubs followed by a bbq. It promises to be a fun day and a great opportunity to see this stunning park and give back to your local environment.

Atiu Creek was officially opened to the public as a regional park in April 2008 and has extensive harbour frontage with large tracts of native forest supporting a range of flora and fauna. In addition to 450ha of rolling grassed land, the park contains a number of significant areas of kanuka, totara, kauri and mature pohutakawa forest and wetlands in the gullies. The park provides habitat for the nationally threatened New Zealand dabchick and brown teal.

CVNZ has a full time presence at Atiu Creek and is committed to protecting and restoring the biodiversity of this stunning park. For this event, we will provide transportation from Auckland, Warkworth and Wellsford or you can choose to meet us on site.
