Auckland International Buskers Festival Weekend - Free in Aotea Square

Auckland International Buskers Festival arrives in time for Auckland Anniversary Weekend with tricks and high jinks from acrobats, jugglers, contortionists, hula hoop artists, comedians and many others. Come and experience their world of madness and mayhem as Aotea Square is transformed into a playground for some of the world’s most talented street performers. Pass the hat around if you enjoy their performance.

Seb Whipits (Germany)
Growing up in the small town of Kleinstadt gave Seb ample time to perfect his art as the only whip juggler in the world. The show features whip cracking, whip juggling and an unbelievable duel fire whip finale.

Duo Looky (Israel/Poland)
A blind date between two comic characters, leads to a love story. There is just one obstacle - his mobile phone. The show combines acrobatics, dance, balance on ballet shoes, and unicycle.

Toni Smith Show (NZ)
World-class hula hooper and comedian with girl next door appeal, Toni Smith delivers cheeky 'just for mom' comedy which will leave you laughing out loud, while kids dance sweet ignorance. Originally from Christchurch, Toni travels the world performing in circuses, festivals and cabarets

Pogo Fred (USA)
A multiple Guinness World Record Holder, puts on an extremely acrobatic pogo stunt show. Jumping over 7 feet into the air while performing flips, outstanding tricks and stunts on his next generation and 10-foot tall pogo sticks.

Kilted Colin (USA)
Honing his skills as a child at bagpipe camp (not a joke), Colin now performs his one man comedy variety show all over the globe. He pushes the boundaries of what can be done in a kilt. Bagpiping, beatboxing, juggling, acrobatics, dancing, unicycling, and extreme good looks…

Basketball Jones (NZ)
Combining freestyle basketball tricks, traditional circus skills and comedy to deliver an hilarious show like no other. His show features dribbling, spinning and juggling up to five basketballs, audience interaction, humour and a dangerous basketball trick atop a ten foot high unicycle!

Big Wheel Show (Australia)
Hannah Cryle is bringing The BIG WHEEL (one of the biggest circus props to be used by any performer in the world) to the street. Contorting through rings, hula hooping and rolling about, she turns upside down and round and round.

Woody Woodman (Germany)
A wooden character who carves himself out of a tree-trunk. After WOODY is born and steps into the world he becomes acquainted with the surrounding people, exploring their nature and way of living. A symbiosis between humans and nature is possible.

Beat the Streets (Australia)
Providing a unique, exciting performance presenting acrobatics, dance and comedy. Their 20-minute performance is a showcase of thrilling breakdancing, acrobatic flipping, rhythmic tap dancing and comedy with audience interactivity.
Undoubtedly the most sought after street entertainers in the country.

The Cate Great Show (USA)
An adorable blend of high-end circus, death-defying feats, and original comedy. Cate has performed on stages, pitches and at festivals across the globe. She is also pretty darn great in a general sort of way.

The Mr. Spin Show
A highly skilled, comic vaudevillian style street/circus act including a beautiful three-ball juggle, diabolo, Chinese devil-sticking with baseball bats, one ball manipulation and an eight ball juggle, mixed with mad capped antics and an incredible sense of fun, not to mention a few hat tricks thrown in! The show culminates with Mr Spin jumping on to an eight-foot zigzag unicycle (of his own design) from which he juggles three baseball bats while balancing a glass of water on his head!
