Beginner Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga at Fergs Wellington.

These classes provide an introduction to paddling basics on a standup paddleboard and a SUP yoga basics session on the water. We'll provide an introduction first on land to paddling, then give you a chance to practice as you paddle to an anchor in front of Fergs on the Wellington waterfront. Then you'll be led through a yoga basics session on the water. We provide all the equipment you need. You don't need paddling or yoga experience. Once you complete this class you can attend any of the regular SUP yoga classes.

Booking required. Classes limited to just 8 students.

Weather dependent. Please contact to book and confirm the scheduled class is going ahead dependent on weather.

Megan Sety is instructing these classes. Megan is a registered yoga teacher and certified SUP instructor who runs the SUP yoga programme at Fergs Kayaks in Wellington.

A little more info:
Stand-Up Paddle boards are large enough to act as a mat and stable enough to make practicing yoga possible. Yoga on SUP requires an extra level of focus and concentrated muscle effort to stay afloat. Because the boards are unstable, your core, as well as the smaller muscles around your joints, work harder to keep you balanced. It's a great way to work muscles that often don't get used. Of course, if you don't find that balance, you've got the water to fall into for a splash.
