Scottish-born Folk Blues Jazz singer-songwriter Isabella (Izzy) Miller Bell Aka Ma Bell brings her travelling 'Pop-up' road show to the West coast accompanied by a superb line-up of world class independent South Island musician-composers. Featuring Jon Maxim Hooker & James Wilkinson (ex Rua) on acoustic guitars/bass and vocals with special guests Danny Wilson joining on sax, flute, vocals and Johnny Bevin on piano and vocals.

With a hat full of lotions, potions and the wildest of notions Ma Bell takes on the role of mistress of ceremonies introducing the infamous Madame Tragédie to tell the story of the blues in a musical odyssey that will lift you up to the dizziest of heights and cast you down into the darkest of nights on a search for a paradise lost.

Reviews: "When the magnificent Isabella Miller Bell strutted on to the stage with whip and wine in hand it was clearly show time, and what a show Ma Bell and her wonderful band of troubadours delivered." - Shelley Topp - North Canterbury News 2016

Review: Jon Maxim Hooker & James Wilkinson treated the audience to a stunning display of guitar technique on Zeppelins Rain Song." - Gerard Hudson Wellington Folk Festival 2005.

Join Madame Tragédie & Accomplices (if you dare) at Le Cabaret De La Vie for an evening of top shelf Acoustic Blues, Jazz and Celtic Soul mingled with low Glaswegian banter, Vaudevillian Satire & Music Hall Theatre.
