Do your kids love bugs and all things creepy crawlie?

Get together at Nga Manu Nature Reserve for a fun family day out full of discovery. Taking part in the workshop you will enjoy a forest trek, weta motels, bush beating, insect gathering, investigating with microscopes, spot the stick insects, butterfly life cycles and more. Afterwards you can explore the reserve at your leisure - bring a pic-nic and enjoy some quality family time. See the iconic New Zealand kiwi in the nocturnal house and meet native birds in the walk through aviaries. Feed the endangered long fin eels at 2pm, spot frogs and native lizards and get up close to tuatara. Explore Kapiti’s largest remaining remnant of coastal lowland swamp forest and idyllic bird sanctuary. Over 50 different bird species come and go around the wetlands, bush and surroundings.
