Calling all cello players!

Do you fancy an afternoon of relaxed cello ensemble playing followed by a fun concert performance in the evening?

Cellophonia provides an opportunity for cellists of any level to play with New Zealand’s top cellists in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Inbal Megiddo (NZSM’s Senior Lecturer in cello) and Andrew Joyce (Principal Cellist of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra) are co-directors of Cellophonia and will play together with participants as part of the ensemble.

This is the fifth cello festival of its kind run by Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music. It will be a ‘one-day-er’ event this time, and will take place in the Adam Concert Room at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music on Saturday 20 Feb.

Below is the outline of the day:
2 – 5pm Cello ensemble rehearsal
5 – 6:30pm Break (dinner and drinks provided)
6:30pm Public performance of the rehearsed works (free concert open to all)

Rather than Christmas, this year Cellophonia will be celebrating Valentine's Day. So come join the cello ensemble and bring your loved ones to be serenaded at the concert!

Once registered, participants will be able to collect the ensemble music ahead of time from the NZSM reception from Monday 15 February.

Registrations due by Friday 12 February.
