Welcome to another amazing Emerging Artist Evening, and tonight we have the talented Charlie Isdale Quintet and Nick Dow Quartet at the cutting edge of the creative adjective with two very individual sets.

Charlie Isdale Quintet:

- Charlie Isdale - Alto Saxophone.
- Michael Howell - Guitar.
- Chris Marshall - Electric/Upright Bass.
- Asher Truppman Lattie - Tenor Saxophone.
- Stephen Thomas - Drums.

Charlie Isdale is currently finishing his Honours year at the University of Auckland Jazz School. He has played lead alto in the Queen City big band for the past 3 years and performs semi-regularly in various other local bands. He also pays the bills by doing traffic control on the side.

This set will be made up of original tunes written for his recital earlier in the year as well as some previously unheard material.

Nick Dow Quartet:

- Michael Howell - Guitar.
- Denholm Orr - Bass.
- Dan Waterson - Drums.
- Nick Dow - Piano/Vocals.

He was born with a name to scat. His name is Nick Dow. Get it? but wait there's more. A lost child, Nick Dow does not know where to call home having studied jazz piano down in Christchurch at the CPIT jazz school (recently renamed ara - music arts). This year Nick Dow is completing his honours year at the university of Auckland and is now digging his way into new projects around town as well as getting back into his songwriting.

Being Nick Dow's first set of (mainly) originals in Auckland, Nick Dow and his beautifully talented band-mates will do his best to take you to that far away place, that dream land, where all your stresses will be set free. Nick Dow is not known for a rhythmic virtuosity, but more for melting & moulding melancholic melodious moments. It took Nick Dow an hour to write this blurb. That's how much effort Nick Dow puts in to make new friends in the city. Never does he say his name so much but for the purpose of this blurb.

Every Wednesday CJC presents a featured member artist or international guest. Please check the website for changes.
