Learn to set faceted stones in a handmade claw setting.
You will be shown the basic technique of forming the collet from silver wire, setting stones, trouble shooting and finishing the setting.

Required equipment: strong magnifying glasses / head-sets or lenses on a stand.
Recommended equipment: your own flexishaft dremel or similar.
Strong magnifying lenses are a must because you will be working in very tiny scale - if you already wear glasses, we suggest wearing jeweller’s magnifying head-sets or two pairs of glasses (yes - it works!)

Your own dremel is useful, because you need to learn how to use your own flexishaft tool to drill and form the settings. Please let us know if you plan to bring one.

Tutor: Vaune Mason.

Cost: $180

Students taking both April stone setting workshops will receive a 10% discount.

The class is spilt over two weekend days, 10am - 2.30 pm with a half hour lunch break.

This course is a technique course only - not one where you come away with a “finished” item.

Suitable for students with some experience.
