See his creations brought to life and explore the mind of a scientist, an artist and an inventor, Leonardo Da Vinci.

Da Vinci Machines and Robots is a display of precise and interactive replicas of machines and robotics designed and detailed by Leonardo da Vinci in Italy during the 15th century.

On loan from the Museum of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence, Italy, this hands-on exhibition brings together over 80 machines and artworks devised more than 500 years ago.

Many of the pieces are interactive and the collection brings to life da Vinci’s most important and impressive designs, including the bicycle, hang glider, helicopter, a mechanical lion and the incredible robot drummer.

Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to touch and handle many of the models to gain a first-hand appreciation of how they work. Put into the context of time, these designs impress for their forward thinking, practical application and detailed design. To further engage, interactive displays and objects are accompanied by explanatory notes and illustrative panels featuring da Vinci’s drawings.

The exhibition also features children's activities, computer animations and reproductions of Da Vinci’s greatest paintings.

Da Vinci Machines and Robots is a touring exhibition developed by Artisans of Florence. All replicas were hand built in Italy.
