Dak Bungalow at Field and Green was one of the most talked about events during Wellington on a Plate. So good in fact that we have asked the lovely Laura Greenfield and Rachael Ferguson to host a re-run just for Wellington Foodies members!

A near-forgotten culinary treasure from India's Raj era dak bungalow cuisine never lacked ingenuity! Hybrid Anglo-Indian meals were created for British travelers' tastes in government guesthouses built from the 1840s along the Dak (mail) route. Field & Green will retrace staple dishes and flavours typically found in a Dak bungalow kitchen with our take on hearty meals such as masala omelette, railway mutton curry and caramel custard, alongside the most recognisable Anglo-Indian dish, kedgeree. Collaborating with Garage Project, Hardieboys, Bootleggers and Ritual Tea Company with perfectly matched IPA beers, sodas and teas, drinks familiar to travelers in British India. Complete with sounds from the Indian-influenced psychedelic rock & scene.

Dinner includes three courses and two glasses of wine, beer or soda.
