All good things must come to an end, so join me in The Last Dance Yourself Happy session to celebrate the good times we've had since 20th July! It will be a fun and free hour of uninstructed leg-shaking, side-stepping, body-popping, running man, robot, old-school, or whatever your style may be. Let the hits & electronic dance tunes of '80s, '90s, '00s and beyond work up a sweat.

No age limit.

Who's doing this and why?
I'm Mari, an ex-deejay who loves dancing, electronic dance music & hits of the past. I want to spread some of that contagious good mood you get from living room dancing to my local community and anyone else who wants to join in while waiting for my slowpitch softball summer season to start. DYH is about dancing together instead of alone in our living rooms, for the love of dancing. And dancing to improve our moods & de-stress from whatever negative stuff we've got going on in our lives.

What kind of music can I expect?
It will be electronic dance music with hits from 80s, 90s, 00s and today - chart-toppers, floor-bangers, house, synthpop, techno, dance-pop, mashups, some pop-rock, the occasional latin vibe and much more for a groovy concoction. There won't be any folk dance, slow-dance, ballroom, waltz, tango and that type of 'traditional' music.

Is this 'dancing in the dark'?
We will reduce the lighting to create a nice moody environment.

What should I wear and bring?
Wear anything you feel comfortable with busting a move in, Howick RSA is a casual place. Bring a water bottle, or you can buy refreshments from the bar before or after the session.

Can I request a song?
Feel free to suggest a song you'd like to dance to, but I cannot guarantee it'll make it to the lineup on time. I'm prerecording an hour-long playlist which I'll just plug in and play on the night. I've done my best to cater to many tastes, spending hours selecting songs and weaving them together to a unique compilation.

Dues it cost to get in?
It makes me very happy to say this is absolutely free - thanks to the generosity of Howick RSA and Oceania Productions who are kindly donating the use of their venue & equipment. Thank you guys.

Can I bring my kids along?
Sure you can, but they have to be under your supervision at all times - they are not allowed to roam around the facilities by themselves.

Anything else? Just ask!
