Jo Kelly-Moore - ‘Breaking the stained glass ceiling’ - women in leadership in Aotearoa

In May 2016 it was reported that none of the top 50 New Zealand public companies have a female CEO and less than 20% of directorships are held by women. At the same time, few women hold senior leadership positions in the Church. As the first country to give women the vote and to elect a female Diocesan Bishop, what is happening? Why so women still not take an equal place in leadership and what can we do about it?

Jo Kelly-Moore has been the Dean of the Anglican Cathedral in Auckland for the last six years and, prior to that, Vicar of St Aidan’s, Remuera. She represents Auckland Diocese on General Synod Standing Committee and is a School Trustee. Hailing from Wellington, Jo studied law and arts at Victoria University and spent nearly seven years in legal practice in Wellington and London before returning to University to study theology.
