Pam Torrington used to be an archaeologist in England. She began her degree in Auckland and took part in several "digs" on local Maori sites. She then did a degree in archaeology in Cardiff and her university undertook the largest excavation of a site at the time, in Usk, South Wales. It was an undiscovered Roman fortress.

She then dug on many other sites and will show a selection of slides of her experiences. She taught archaeology for many years to all ages in England. She has a practical emphasis and will be encouraging participants to handle and draw many 2000 years old artefacts, as well as welcoming discussion.
