Bikey Face Chch Soapbox is an interactive session hosted by Catarina Gutierrez from cycleCHCH and RAD Bikes. It’s a platform for people to openly talk about all things bikes: what they love and enjoy most and even what’s grinding their gears. Come hear what others have learned and where Christchurch fits in the global transport space. But with more fun and activities than your normal transport talk. We promise!

This event is presented by cycleCHCH & RAD Bikes as part of FESTA 2016.

FESTA is a vibrant weekend festival celebrating the unique urban environment of Christchurch and the creative urban regeneration that has emerged from it.

The theme for FESTA 2016 is ‘We Have the Means’, which focuses on citizen-initiated urban regeneration and sustainability through the reuse of waste materials in design. The ‘means’ we are celebrating includes both the people of Christchurch and visitors to the city, who care about the city’s development and flourishing, and the materials that we are able to repurpose and divert from landfill, which is then used to create a functioning, beautiful and interesting objects for Christchurch.

Our headline event, Lean Means - a spectacular temporary city made from ‘waste’ materials, is set to attract thousands and is live for one night only on Saturday 22 October (rain date 23 October).
