Creative Fibre (The New Zealand Spinning Weaving and Woolcrafts Society Inc.) was established in 1969 and has a long and proud history of fibre crafts. In the early days of our society, hand spinning, knitting and weaving were the main crafts practiced, however, over the years, we have greatly broadened the variety of mediums in which we work – spinning, knitting, multi-shaft weaving, crochet, felting, dyeing, art yarns, and fibre art.

Although wool is the preferred fibre of choice, a wide range of natural fibres are now used in our work, including alpaca, silk, mohair, cotton and bamboo. This exhibition showcases the talents and skills of our Wellington members.
