There are two workshops on Friday morning and three on Friday Afternoon. Please note these are two sets of alternative choices.

Morning workshops - check in at the Heritage Hotel
1A - Crash Course for beginners
Taught by Hugh & Fi McCafferty aka the Ukulele People. Hugh & Fi will give you enough chords and 'how to fake it' tips to enable participation in the Big Strum and to get you started on your ukulele journey. While we will teach from 8 years up children under 12 will require an adult to assist them (non playing adults will not be charged)

1B - Ukulele Maintenance
Brian Stone will talk to you about basic maintenance of your instrument and will teach you how to string it. This is suitable for 14 years and older.

Afternoon workshops - check in at the Heritage Hotel venues tbc probably Geraldine High School
2A Performance 101
So you know a song or two and want to strut your stuff. Hugh & Fi will talk to you about dealing with your stage anxiety, talking to your soundman, making the microphone your friend, being prepared for light in your eyes and chatting to your audience so they will like you. Bring your instrument and some material to perform.

2B Basic Songwriting - The Nukes
By popular demand a workshop on songwriting. The Nukes who are masters of their craft will impart some of their wisdom.

2C Advanced skills - Jim Fulton and friends
An introduction to arpeggio and finger-picking styles. Some knowledge of tablature will be required for this workshop
