A battle of New Zealand’s finest choreographers.

This two-day event pushes the boundaries of art and entertainment and delivers a full-scale dance and theatre experience. 150 Next Gen, teens and Pro-adult performers will compete in this year’s battle theme: Prop Masters for cash & other prizes judged by top industry leaders!

Each choreographer has been given a prop to create their dance piece. Each team will bring their own dance style to the table. From the best of Hip Hop to Lyrical and Contemporary, this competition is the first of its kind having different genres battle with each other.

Brought to you by Triple8Funk Entertainment, a Melbourne-based company founded in Auckland in 2001, Battle of the Arts comes to New Zealand for the first time after their hugely successful 2015 premiere event in Australia: Grounded: Battle of the Arts - 7 Deadly Sins.

With each event, Triple8Funk Entertainment brings to light important social issues and Grounded: Battle of the Arts is no exception. Speaking to environmental sustainability which will be the tying theme to keep the suspense in between each dance piece throughout the 2-day event.

October 22 - Next Gen/Teen Division
October 23 - Pro-Adult Division

“It was simply brilliant! Well done. We enjoyed every minute of the show.” - Peter King (spectator, Grounded 2015)
