Back by popular demand, The Scholars Pro Musica once again perform Handel's greatest oratorio and seasonal favourite, Messiah. A musical drama like no other, Messiah is famous the world over.

No other choral work has received such wide acclaim and universal acceptance. A timeless masterpiece, Messiah demands something of all who hear it as we strive to make sense of the world in which we live.

The Scholars Pro Musica again team up with NZbAROK, New Zealand's only professional baroque orchestra, to deliver a highly stylised performance of this work, the way Handel himself would have envisioned it. Scholar's Artistic & Musical Director, Chalium Poppy, conducts and is proud to welcome a team of New Zealand's finest baroque soloists: Jayne Tankersley (soprano), Stephen Diaz (countertenor), Iain Tetley (tenor) and Tavis Gravatt (bass).

“I did think that I did see all of heaven before me, and the great God Himself.” - George Frideric Handel (upon completing the “Hallelujah” chorus).

- Conductor: Chalium Poppy
- Soprano: Jayne Tankersley
- Countertenor: Stephen Diaz
- Tenor: Iain Tetley
- Bass: Tavis Gravatt
