The holistic bee-keeping approach recognises the hive as a whole organism, where the bee-keeper is a steward of nature who undertakes commercial activity in a way which is more respectful to the bees.
This workshop will explore the many reasons why we don't need to feed sugar to our bees for winter. Instead we allow them to get the full nutrition of the honey and pollen they gather from nature - making sure the hive has enough supplies to last till the following Spring. These techniques will enhance the health of your bees and provide an environment that uses more natural substances to control disease.
This workshop is presented by Gui Vilhena - Programme Director of the Certificate in Applied Organics & Biodynamics programme at Taruna College. Gui is a very experienced holistic bee-keeper with much knowledge and expertise to share in this field.
