Do you worry a lot or suffer from anxiety? Or know somebody who does? Have you wondered how counselling works, and how it can help people with anxiety?

Did you know anxiety is New Zealand’s second most commonly diagnosed mental health issue after depression and affects around 200,000 people? Or that anxiety is readily treatable with talk therapy and may not always need medication?

Come along to hear Jenny Jackson and Carol-Anne Begbie speak about how to prevent and manage worry and anxiety.

They’ll also explain how counselling works and how it can help.

Jenny Jackson and Carol-Anne Begbie are experienced counsellors, having each practised within their individual fields for over 20 years. Jenny is a Family Therapist in private practice working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. Carol-Anne specialises in play therapy with children in addition to counselling a wide range of clients and issues.

They both work in Mairangi Bay and are members of the NZ Association of Counsellors.

Please note Jenny and Carol-Anne’s talk is being held as part of raising awareness for Mental Health Awareness Week being held 10-16 October.

Morning tea is from 10:30am, with the talk beginning at 10:45am.

The Mental Health Awareness Week is endorsed by the World Federation for Mental Health and is marked in over 150 countries. And in New Zealand Mental Health Awareness Week is organised by The Mental Health Foundation.

The New Zealand theme for 2016 is 'Connect with nature for good mental health and wellbeing'. Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 10 - 16 October 2016.
