The Idea Collective WorkLab will be transformed into a Minecraft haven as New Zealand gamers base themselves here to construct a built-to-scale virtual refugee camp in a 40-hour live-streamed event to raise funds for Syrian refugees.

This initiative is led by World Vision Youth Ambassador and HungerDrive founder Jay Adams to support the 40-Hour Famine fundraising campaign to create child-friendly spaces in refugee camps in Jordan.

During MOTAT’s normal opening hours (10am to 5pm), visitors can participate in this gigantic Minecraft build with some of New Zealand's best or virtually experience the life of a refugee with Samsung's Virtual Reality demonstration.

There will also be a display of 10 artworks by Jay’s fellow World Vision Youth Ambassador Natalie Jellyman, who is creating 40 drawings for auction on Trademe.

All profits made from the sale of her artwork will be donated to the work World Vision is doing.
