The third of three in the Shakespeare in Conversation series of free public panel discussions, presented by Pop-up Globe in association with Auckland Libraries:

Ever wondered what it’s like to be surrounded by an audience of up to 900 people, delivering some of the most famous lines in theatre history, in a reconstruction on one of history's most famous theatres? This year, a wide range of actors from across New Zealand and the world have been given this opportunity right here in Auckland.

In this conversation they will share with us their unique experience of the triumphs and challenges of performing in an Elizabethan open-air amphitheatre. This event is a rare opportunity to hear actors talk about their process of developing character, working with text and bringing to life 400 year old stories in the space for which they were written!

This series is brought to you by Pop-up Globe in association with Auckland Libraries, home to New Zealand’s only copy of Shakespeare’s First Folio, one of only 233 in the world. The Folio is the first collected edition of Shakespeare’s plays and was bought in 1894 by Sir George Grey specifically for the library. Originally published in 1623 and compiled by Shakespeare’s former colleagues John Heminge and Henry Condell, the Folio contains 36 of his Comedies, Histories & Tragedies.

The venue for this event is the Whare Wananga Room, Level 2, Central City Library, 44-46 Lorne Street, Auckland City.

Capacity is limited and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so arrive early to secure your seat.
