Join acclaimed Belgian composer and pianist, Jef Neve, for In Flanders Fields, a concert exploring the Belgian experience of WWI, and New Zealand's relationship with it.

Courage has many resting places – as well as the soldiers at the front, those who stayed at home showed fortitude in the face of hardship. Join us for this exciting collaboration between the Belgian Embassy in Canberra, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and Auckland Museum, as we present a concert by renowned Belgian pianist and composer, Jef Neve.

Jef wrote this emotional and beautiful soundtrack for the highly-rated television series In Vlaamse Velden (In Flanders Fields) for Flemish TV, which focuses on those surviving in Belgium, during hard and bitter times. This concert is an exclusive opportunity to see him perform live alongside members of the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert will include instrumental works and sung pieces which will be interspersed with short readings from diaries, letters and newspapers of those troubled times, from both Belgium and New Zealand.
