Innocence Press Release.

Multi-Media Production by Anna Cannon and Phillip Parkinson.

Creative's Anna Cannon and Phillip Parkinson are collaborating in a project called Innocence - Forty Years On. Anna brings her songwriting, composing and creative writing skills to the project, and Phil brings video and photographic skills. Together they tell the story of a young woman whose innocence is taken at the age of fourteen and her journey to recovery through creative pursuits over a span of forty years. On her journey, she experiences depression and anxiety and falls into numerous abusive relationships. At the end of forty years, she finds wholeness which she discovers has come through her love of creativity.

This story is depicted through song, dance, drama, poetry, creative writing, video, and music. Anna and Phil are looking for creative people for the roles of dancers, set designers, actors, singers (women's choir), pianist and musicians. We would also like to have an art exhibition at the time of the production and would like to show the work of local artists who can portray the content of this production in visual arts. Each artist will be given a poem from the production and asked to create a work of art to be exhibited at the time of the production.

There will be a meeting held at 161 Grant Road, Otatara, Invercargill on Saturday 1st October at 3pm. Auditions will follow on Saturday 8th October from 1pm at the same venue.
