Graham & Sons is a small firm founded in 1952, specializing in high quality upholstery for both residential and commercial clients, in the Wairarapa and Wellington regions.

This one day class will give you an introduction to all of the basic skills and techniques of upholstery, through making your own footstool. You’ll also gain an insight into those ‘tricks of the trade’ which achieve a professional finish.

Class will run on Saturday or Sunday depending on bookings, there is a maximum of 6 places available for each day, with one tutor per three students. Tutors are partners in the business, and bring a wealth of experience and design flair to help you achieve a good result.

The morning session is spent going through the factory using the various machinery, especially the sewing machines, and covering a base board. In the afternoon, you choose fabric from our stock and then cut foam, cut and sew the fabric, sew the cover and cover the footstool. Then your master piece is yours to take home!

A $50 deposit is required to secure your place, please note this is non-refundable if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice and we are unable to fill the place from the waiting list.

Call - 06 306 9551 or email to book:

Note also, if you do one of our classes and we know you can then use the tools properly and safely, you are able to come back and work on a larger project at other times by arrangement. This costs $15 per hour for basic help and materials and we can discuss it from there depending on your project.
