Come and discover the fun and possibilities of technology at Te Manawa’s new robotics programme!

Suitable for children in school years 6-8 (9-13 year-olds), your child will be building, programming and driving their own robot in groups of up to four. Each session is 2.5 hours long and any session can be attended, or build their skills by signing up for all three sessions.

- Monday 26 Sept: Learn to build a robot – get a grounding in all the skills you need to build a Vex IQ robot.
- Wednesday 28 Sept: Sumo bots – can you build a robot big and strong enough to push the others out of the ring?
- Friday 30 Sept: Dinosaur chase – build a dinosaur style robot and send it into battle against other teams!

Children will be mentored by Feilding High School teacher Graham Conlon and the school’s Robotics Club, who competed in the Vex World Championship in 2014 and 2015, and were 2016 winners of the Future Foundation Robotics Construction Challenge! Working in groups of four, your child will learn to design, build, programme and drive a robot, building problem solving and creative skills to take their opportunities in the Steam field to the next level. Get a group of friends and sign up today!

The classes can be attended individually on any day, or all together for a better understanding. Bring your own refreshments.
