Poetry slams are a form of poetry reading that is not for the faint of heart. The Justice Slam is a competitive reading for a selected number of poets to perform three different poems over three rounds. A panel of judges decides on the best performances, progressing them to the next round and eventually declare a winner.

The Justice Slam is a dialogue for disadvantage and a platform for change from the heart.

For the Justice Slam, there are no preliminary heats leading up to the final, but you have to prove you've got what it takes to slam it with the best. To enter for the chance to compete you'll need to video yourself (quality of footage not important) performing one of your poems and submit the link as part of your entry below. All poems must touch on the subject of justice, how you define that is up to you.

Entries close on Friday 7th October. Entries will be screened and the successful finalists will be notified by Thursday 13th October. Sign up today to use your voice for justice in Aotearoa.

The winner of the Justice Slam will receive:
- Spot to perform one of your poems at the Justice Conference NZ in front of 500+ attendees.
- Bragging rights as the Inaugural Justice Slam NZ winner.
- $500 cold hard cash courtesy of our Slam sponsor Mrs Higgins.
