Kaporangi Kiriata means reaching for the stars, and that is what will be happening at the first-ever Te Reo Māori Film Day at Auckland War Memorial Museum. Join us for a full day of te reo Māori shorts, dramatic works and documentaries. Curated by Pita Turei and Leo Koziol of the Wairoa Māori Film Festival.

Films include new Māori sci-fi short film Tawhiti by Tamati Ihaka. In the film Ruanui has returned from Mars but instead of settling down like he promised, he tries to convince his wife and daughter to return with him to start a new life on Mars. The film is completely in te reo Māori.
