This concert is a first in our developing series of our “own” concerts to supplement our music programme.

Kate Hamilton is the Artist-in-Residence and violist of the Esterhazy String Quartet at the University of Missouri and Associate Professor of Viola at Illinois State University and Concordia College, Minnesota. She plays on a viola made specifically for her in 2000 by the internationally awarded luthier Hiroshi Iizuka, which is modeled after the viola d’amore of the Baroque period.

Milton Masciadri is professor of Double Bass at the University of Georgia, USA. He has a great enthusiasm for enlarging the double bass repertoire and championing music from his native South America. He performs on a 320-year-old double bass by the world-renowed Italian luthier Carlo Giuseppe Testore.
