Leon, Rewa and Jamey

Leon Wharekura is an accomplished singer, entertainer and songwriter and is well respected by all in the New Zealand music and entertainment industry. Hamilton-born Leon’s career began in the late eighties, while under the mentoring and guidance of NZ legends such as entertainer/comedian Billy T James and singer Dalvanius Prime. He wasted no time in putting this experience, and watching the ‘greats’ perform out front, to good use. Leon made his way to the front of his own stage and has gone on to ‘wow’ and ‘woo’ his own rapt audiences. Throughout the course of his career Leon has performed extensively throughout New Zealand and Australia as well as shows in China.
Vocally there is nothing Leon cannot sing – from the huge soulful ballads to the high-energy R&B hits; Leon soars easily from note to note and genre to genre - from funk to jazz, pop to rock and R & B to ballads.

Rewa Ututaonga
Hailing from Tuwharetoa/Ngati Raukawa roots, with a background in Maori Cultural performance, it was not until 1983 that Rewa branched out as a solo songstress, by winning her very first talent quest, which was judged by the late Prince Tui Teka. This turned out to be a lucky break for Rewa, as the Prince then asked her to perform on both of his upcoming television specials. With this experience under her belt, that same year she was a contestant in the TVNZ talent production of 'Star Quest'. Rewa has never looked back!
Rewa exudes an incredible feel and love for music, which is expressed in an awe-inspiring voice that has the subtlety of Randy Crawford, and when appropriate, the power of Tina Turner. Of course all this is wrapped up in a down-to-earth personality, which has won Rewa acclaim all over.
