Douglas Adams gave us the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything as 42. This event is a little less ambitious and will certainly have some different answers to the big questions of life, the universe and is there something more to it all?

A panel of national and international experts has been brought together by Awana Rural Women who are kindly sharing their guests with the Auckland Astronomical Society. Each expert will share their views and experiences and there will be plenty of opportunities for questions.

Panellists and their area of interest are:
- Prof Steve Pointing, AUT, an expert in microbes in extreme places - where did life come from?
- Dr. Faith Vilas, senior scientist, Planetary Science Institute, USA - the search for life in the stars.
- Bro Guy Consolmagno, Ph.D., Director Vatican Observatory - our place in the Universe.

Moderator: Dr. Niven Brown, Special Events Coordinator, Auckland Astronomical Society.

Scientists are making huge strides in the search for life – from what is needed to get life started to where life might exist. It’s an exciting time with space probes and powerful telescopes searching the skies for clues. Is there life or something more out there?
