Gallery 3 was once the site of the children's bedroom when it was the Corban's family home. After time spent sharing a bedroom while travelling, artists Harriet Stockman and Kelsey Stankovich became interested in the drifting conversations that they shared this space.

Stockman and Stankovich respond to the paradoxical relationship between the history of the gallery space as a bedroom and its current use as a gallery. Like a little sphere of soapsud drifting attempts to capture the sense of a space that is neither one nor the other through the use of materials and objects; from gas to liquid to solid, fired and unfired, soft and hard, rudimentary and complete, almost.

Artists Talk: Kelsey Stankovich, Harriet Stockman and Virginia Leonard talk about their work Saturday 26 November, 11am.

Kelsey, Harriet and Virginia Leonard's exhibitions are part of the Auckland Festival of Ceramics.
