The 4th annual Maraekakaho Country Market Day promises to be the biggest yet and is being help on Saturday 19th March 2016, 10 am to 3pm, at the Maraekakaho Show Grounds, the 15 minutes from Hastings in an idyllic wine country setting.
We will have over 100 market day stalls selling a variety of high quality goods - arts and crafts, hand knits, clothing, jewelry, furniture, home decor, toys and so much more. There will be a range of food stalls including ice cream, sweets, fresh produce, home baking, gourmet burgers, sausages sizzle, coffee and Godsown Beer.
This is 'Your rural day in the Bay!'. There will be pony rides, petting zoo, shearing demonstrations, wool and spinning displays, and lots of 'boys toys' with CLAAS Harvest Centre tractors and harvesting machinery, vintage cars, rural fire vehicles, and jet boats on display. We also have Hawke's Bay Magpies playing visiting on the day.
There is something for young and old with a live entertainment stage showing casing performers throughout the day. Classic country games such as the gumboot game, CLAAS Harvest Centre lolly scramble and jolly jars, along with Market Day staples - the bouncy castle, mini hot rods and merry-go-round guaranteeing a full day of entertainment!
A Country Market Day favourite returns - Cervus Cow Pat Bingo, where the winner will be taking home $500 cash for correctly guessing which square Honey the cow choose to make her cow pat. Along with new events - Property Brokers Grown Art, where children can enter their fruit and vegetable creations for a chance to win their age groups 1st prize, a $50 voucher; and Harris Pumps + Grundfos Tug of War where schools can battle it out to be come MKK champions and claim a $500 1st prize for their school!
Come and join us for a 'Jam Packed' day of country fun in our little slice of rural paradise! All proceeds from the market will go to Gumboots Maraekakaho Early Childhood Centre and Maraekakaho School.
