Troy Kingi, Mark Vanilau and Mara TK hit Hawke's Bay for a special show bringing these three wonderful soul-singers together to interpret songs from The Impressions, Al Green and Curtis Mayfield as well as their own rich back catalogues.

Common Room is the perfect venue to provide an outstanding atmosphere for this exceptional line-up.

Foundation member of the iconic, Electric Wire Hustle, Mara has also collaborated with Eru Dangerpsiel, Wild Bill Ricketts, Ommas Keith, Muhsinah, Jake One, Julien Dyne, Kimbra, Mos Def, Just Blaze, Fly My Pretties and Tim Finn. Solo performances at The Museum of New Zealand and City Gallery - Wellington, Glastonbury Festival and SXSW in Austin, Texas.

Player Profile - Troy Kingi:
Troy Kingi has made a name as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and actor, taking roles in the movies Pa Boys, Mount Zion & Wilderpeople, mentor for - Songs From The Inside. as well as working with Maisey Rika, Ria Hall, Rob Ruha, Stan Walker, recently collaborating with Mark Vanilau & Mara TK.

Troy picked up the guitar while attending Te Aute College's, playing a mix of kapa haka and Bone Thugs N Harmony, some Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Queens of the Stone Age and Jack White have influenced his playing which Troy describes as dirt-blues guitar.

Troy has been working on his album - Guitar Party at Uncle's Bach, inspired by his love of guitar singalongs from family gatherings.

Player Profile - Mark Vanilau:
Mark Vanilau has collaborated with a wide range of musicians, he’s a regular feature in Dave Dobbyn’s band, appears on Hollie Smith’s album, performed with Rikki Gooch in Eru Dangerspiel, Ladi 6, Breaks Co-Op, Vanilau·Maxwell· Baker, the Fly My Pretties collective and showcased at the Australian World Music Expo.

He lists his many influences as Mum and Grandad, Harry Connick, Jr. Petra Tribalincs, Stevie Wonder, Donald Fagan, Stevie Nicks, D'Angelo, The Roots, Outkast, Warren Maxwell, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Dave Dobbyn, Ray Charles, Beethoven, The Roots, Trinity Roots, Kirk Franklin, Sade, Richard Clayderman, Igor Stravinsky, Andre Crouch, Mahalia Jackson, Prince, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Nina Simone, Sting, Kenny Kirkland, Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield to name a few.

Mark's music has been recognised with:
- 2014 - Vodafone Pacific Music Award, Best Song - Giant of the Sea
- 2014 British Council Award - Most inspiring international artist.

He recently released his EP - Dark Horizon, produced by Warren Maxwell, featuring Ross Burge on drums, Haddon Smith on bass and Sam Taylor, guitar.
