Taupo's Master Carver Delani Brown will be talking about and working on his latest work ‘Pou-mauri’ an exquisite carving which features in Ka ū ki Matanuku, an exhibition of works by artists of Tuwharetoa descent in the Museum’s main gallery. ‘Pou-mauri’, commissioned by an overseas client, is a stunning carving of Māori Gods and native creatures emerging from a three meter tall Totara log.

Among Delani Brown’s many celebrated works is Ngatoro-i-Rangi Toa Matarau the 9 metre high waharoa or spiritual entrance that now stands as a gateway to the Taupo War Memorial Cenotaph on Tongariro Street in Taupō.
