This workshop will take students on a journey of play and exploration, developing techniques via games and improvisation.

Fergus Aitken is a New Zealand-based comedian and international award-winning entertainer. He has performed in theatres, comedy clubs and festivals in more than 15 countries world-wide, including in Russia, England, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands and Australia.

Suitable for drama and dance teachers and students. This workshop will revitalise and bolster your approach to movement awareness. Utilising elements of illusionary mime, slow-motion, robotics, movement analysis, physical comedy and improvisation, workshop leader Fergus Aitken has three decades experience of performing and teaching in over a dozen countries worldwide.

There are two scholarship places available. Applicants for these scholarship places should submit a one page letter detailing why they feel they should be offered a free place, in advance of the early bird deadline shown.

Fergus trained in mime, physical theatre, circus and clown, in the UK and in NZ. His teachers have included Robert Bennett, Desmond Jones, John Wright, Simon McBurney, Les Bubb, John Bolton, Deb Pope, Giovanni Fusetti, Thomas Monckton, Fraser Hooper and Ira Seidenstein.
