Merv Thomas (trombone and vocals) has been a leading bandleader in Auckland for many years and presents his quartet with John Wilcox (piano), Bruce King (drums), and Cameron McArthur (bass). Merv has featured in the Merv Thomas Dixielanders at the Crystal Palace in the 1950s and 60s, a sextet on Auckland's waterfront in the 1970s and the Queen City Big Band. John Wilcox has been contributing to Auckland jazz groups since the 1960s, and Bruce King is Auckland's number one drummer. Cameron McArthur is a brilliant young bass player in high demand on the jazz scene.

The Rotorua Jazz Club hosts this evening and welcomes the public, Juniors at $2.

The doors open at 5pm with the cash bar. Meals are available after 7pm.
