Learn to make a monotype print of your own with visiting Ventana resident artist Mark Johnsen, who will guide you every step of the way.
Class Level: All levels
Mark, an established artist from the Bay Area of California, will demo his monotype printmaking practice for those interested in learning about the printmaking practice.
This will be a hands-on workshop focusing on the trace monotype technique. A trace monotype is a one of a kind print that is made by a direct ink transfer. You will learn how to ink up a smooth glass surface and then make an original design on paper - through the use of many different tools to get varying tonal, shading and saturation results. Mark will also demonstrate the process of printing a negative from the original glass design.
Watch this cool video on Mark's process.
