NetHui brings everybody and anybody that wants to talk about the Internet together. We’re not a conference or a Barcamp and we won’t get speakers into to talk to you all day. NetHui is a community event - made for the community, by the community.

Participation and community are at the heart of NetHui. The programme isn’t decided by the top brass at InternetNZ - it’s designed by the community. The local communities will help tailor the programme and lead the day, which means each event will be about issues that actually matter to your community.

We do the hard yards behind the scenes (like organising the venue, catering and networking opportunities) but you do the rest, shaping the event to fit what you, the community, want to hear about.

NetHui South Auckland will have a 'state of the nation'-style opening panel with a mixture of local and national perspectives on how South Auckland is using the Internet. The panelists will explore relevant research, local contexts and issues and opportunities for local communities.

Then at the end of the day, NetHui South Auckland will wrap up with the same panelists holding a plenary-style open discussion reflecting on what issues, opportunities and lessons came up during the day, and what that means for South Auckland going forward.
