Trinity is pleased to host in Napier a concert by the ‘New Pacer Singers’ choir from the University of Tennessee. In 2013, the choir toured to Christchurch and Dunedin and this year is thrilled to return to New Zealand on another performance tour, this time to the North Island.

The Concert will feature solo music, classically-oriented sacred and secular choral music, as well as ‘lighter’ fare that all audiences will enjoy. Following the concert, please stay for a few minutes to chat with members of ensemble so they can learn about you and you can learn about them! Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

The New Pacer Singers is the auditioned touring choir from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Members of this ensemble are vocal students who study singing and performing at the university. UT-Martin, with about 7000 enrolled students, is a primary campus of the University of Tennessee System that is housed within the south-eastern state of Tennessee in the USA. The ensemble tours extensively within the US, having performed in 17 states from coast to coast in some of the most prominent venues available, including St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York City, as well as the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California.

Conductor of the ensemble is Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music, Dr. Mark Simmons.
