NZSSSO 2016 Performances will showcase some of New Zealand's top secondary school orchestral musician's. It will be conducted by Peter Adams with soloist, Geeny Moon (French Horn) and an orchestra of 117 secondary school students representing 57 schools around New Zealand.

The program for both events will include works students have been preparing over the six day orchestral course. These works are; a premier of "Sunrise Overture" by Isaac Shatford, Richard Strauss' Horn Concerto no.1, Danzon Cubana by Arturo Marquez and "The Planets" by Gustav Holst

Informal Concert

This performance will introduce a short selection from the NZSSSO 2016 programme.
An excellent opportunity for introducing those new to symphonic music to the power, energy and vibrance of the symphony orchestra in a 1 hour program. The youthful vitality is sure to captivate.

Main Performance

The New Zealand Secondary Schools Symphony Orchestra's 2016 programme will showcase the full programme with the inclusion of a girls chorale for the final movement of the planets.
This performance will not only showcase the orchestral talent from secondary schools around New Zealand but also promises to be exciting and engaging performance, not to be missed.
