New Zealand’s leading trio ensemble, NZTrio is honoured to perform with internationally renowned musician Xia Jing whose guzheng (traditional Chinese harp) brings a unique sound to the stage in this one-off performance in Wellington, sponsored by the China Culture Centre in New Zealand and supported by the Confucius Institute, Asia New Zealand Foundation and the New Zealand School of Music.

The programme presents four world premieres of works commissioned for this celestial combination of instruments – piano, cello, violin and guzheng and is a perfect acknowledgment of the Harvest Moon Festival which occurs in mid-September.

Programme for piano trio & guzheng:
- Gao Ping: (China/NZ) - Feng Zheng (Kite): dedicated to Jack Body. (NZTrio commission & world premiere)
- Dorothy Ker: (NZ) - String Taxonomy 1. (world premiere)
- Jeroen Speak: (NZ) - Serendipity fields. (world premiere)
- Dylan Lardelli: (NZ) – Shells. (world premiere)

Sponsored by the China Culture Centre in New Zealand part of the Chinese Ministry of Culture 2016 Moon Festival celebrations.
