Come and have a look at one of the beautiful poppy panels that was created last year for the Anzac's 100th year commemorations by the 5000 poppy group. It was a volunteer group started off by Lisa Wallace as a way to remember our brave soldiers from WW1 and to contribute the way our grandmothers did at the time, by knitting and crocheting.

The project took off by Facebook spreading the word and local rest homes and schools getting residents and students involved and it soon had a target of 18,000, one for every man killed from New Zealand. In the end over 32,000 poppies were made and sewn onto panels to be displayed. I am very proud to be able to show this panel off in this beautiful war Memorial library.
