Come relax and enjoy painting your godwit-cutout using creamy and colourful paint out of Resene test pots.

35 more to be painted in total: Only 5 godwit-cutouts to be painted at each remaining pop-up studio workshop in Waiheke Library: next to the Children's Room.

Days left: Sep29, Sep30, Oct3, Oct4, Oct6, Oct7.

Please visit this Waiheke Library link to view the original poster's additional details & info. More info also in

All materials provided, though bringing your favourite paint brushes to use would be nice, as well as an apron to keep your nice clothes clean.

Depending on how many participants turn up at each workshop, each painter may paint a whole godwit on both sides, or share painting one side each with another or others; the more the merrier; Resene paints donated need to be rationed, as they're only enough for the 50 godwit-cutouts made.

These 50 painted godwit-cutouts will join an Oct 9th GodwitsWelcomeHome! celebration at Piritahi Marae:
11am powhiri + 12pm godwits community art installation + 1pm potluck picnic + 2pm tidy-up for a 3pm close, rain or shine. For more details on this upcoming culmination event, check https://tinyurl/godwitswelcomehome for an upcoming Facebook post.

Godwit colouring sheets can be printed or downloaded for pre-planning your design, or simply for the joy of colouring in as part of school or home art time or leisure:
- All 4 godwit-cutout models (sleeping + standing + readying-to-fly + takeoff)
- Standing godwit
- Readying-To-Fly
- Takeoff godwit

These godwit colouring sheets are also available at Waiheke Library's Children's Room godwits info table. If just 1 last one remaining, reprints can be asked for at the library counter. Colouring pencils & sharpener can also be borrowed from the library counter for library-use only; please return after use.

Godwit count at Blackpool Beach, Waiheke, they're back!

Please keep a respectful distance from the birds; you know you're getting too close when they start moving away from you. Birds need their space too!
