“Parting Stage” brings the film to the stage in an original live cinema experience; collaborating film, dance, theatre and live music like you’ve never seen before. Aorere Film Academy invites you to laugh, cry and re-evaluate your life in this coming-of-age dramedy.
It’s the final year of high school for adventure-loving Riley and her trouble-making-slash-aspiring-actor brother, Bradley. By contrast, fellow Year 13 Kodi, has always been adventurous at heart but academic indeed. They are thinking about the future, what they’ve accomplished and what they haven’t.
After a #deep conversation between Riley and Kodi, Riley sets out to help others do the things they have always wanted to do but haven’t because of fear or "because society". Her altruism is her graduation gift to her classmates. But, when good intentions collide with naivety, situations arise that could jeopardise their futures.
"Parting Stage follows the lives of a group of young teens embarking on adventures as part of their coming of age. This is our story, our character driven narrative of what it's like being inside and outside the bubble of our minds and society." - Kaylene Te Wake (Writer)
Please note “PARTING STAGE” is rated PG-13 and contains course language and mature content. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
