Psychological Science in the Public Interest symposium.
Brought to you by New Zealand Psychological Society: Central Districts Branch.

Psychological science investigates the causal factors and explanatory processes underlying thought and behaviour. Through psychological science, psychologists develop an evidence-base for mental health treatments and public health campaigns.

Psychological scientists also contribute to many everyday topics of interest to the public like:
- Are brain training apps effective?
- How do video games influence thinking and behaviour?
- What can neuroscience tell us about how we appreciate art?
- Why does social exclusion feel so painful?
- How will changing climates affect mental wellbeing?

This symposium will feature talks by psychological scientists from Massey who specialise in answering these (and related) questions, where psychological science intersects more broadly with topics of public interest.
