As part of the ongoing fundraising for families in the Syrian refugee camps that we support, we're holding a Quiz night so make up a team of 4-5. Come along to The Sail for a night of fun. There will be raffles and lots of prizes to be won.

Winter is starting again in that part of the world and temperatures drop as low as -15 in some refugee camps. Fuel for heating and cooking is vital, $33 will buy basic (very basic!) fuel for a month for one room/tent.

NGOs also try to provide cash to families to buy winter clothing, blankets, shoes etc. $130 would give a family rudimentary necessities. Food allowances are also given, $15 per person per month. Obviously not nearly enough, but all that can be provided to such huge numbers of people. For most "camp dwellers" savings have long ago been used up, so families can no longer access things like medicines, baby care things, shoes, school needs, sanitary products... and so on.

Tents have worn out after 5-6 years and building stuff like timber and roofing iron etc. to keep out the rain and snow in some places, is in huge demand. Mud is one of the big challenges people have to battle with, and tents collapsing under snow. Thank you for your continued support. Look forward to seeing you on the 9th.
