Invertebrates are the unsung heroes of our wild habitats. They often go unnoticed due to their size but are vital components of our ecosystems. As part of this summer's Conservation Series, Auckland Zoo's Don McFarlane will explore Rotoroa's current and future invertebrates, from the giant centipede and puriri moth to giant weta.

There is no charge for any of the tours and talks; they're added extras for people coming for a relaxing day of walking, swimming and exploring. Usual 360 Discovery ferry prices apply. Tours depart from Home Bay; this walk and talk will begin at 11am and there will be time to explore the island afterwards.

Ferry bookings can be made with 360 Discovery Cruises, either online or by calling 0800 360 3472.
