Berkahn has set William Blake's poems from Songs of Innocence and of Experience, to music. The choir will also perform popular songs from past concerts and songs to for the coming festive period.

Blake's Songs of Innocence and of Experience is made up of two books of poems; Songs of Innocence, a conceptual collection of 19 poems first printed in 1789, and Songs of Experience, a poetry collection of 26 poems first printed in 1794. Both books of poems including individual poems have been set to music by many composers; Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, John Tavener, Karl Jenkins, Victoria Poleva, even German electronic dance music group Tangerine Dream, just to name a few.

Cantoris will be singing the poems with music composed by Jonathan Berkahn. Originally from Palmerston North, Jonathan is an accomplished organist who also plays the harpsichord and fortepiano, a sought-after accompanist who has played for many choirs and soloists, Director of Music at St. Barnabas' Anglican Church (Khandallah) and directs the Festival Singers. Jonathan inaugurated the Wellington Folk Festival choir in 2002, and has led it several times since. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at the New Zealand School of Music.
