Join us for our second fund raising concert to benefit our church organ restoration fund.

Again under the baton of Timothy Carpenter forty-five community voices sing two contrasting works:
- Requiem in D minor: Gabriel Faure, 1890
- A Mass for the Community of Saint Luke: David Hamilton, 2014
- Faure’s Requiem is a short mass written for orchestra, organ, choir and soloist and includes the very well-known soprano aria Pie Jesu.

The Mass for the Community of Saint Luke is our very own choral work. It was commissioned by the Community of St Luke in 2013 in memory of Rev. David Clark who died in 2012. Renowned Auckland composer David Hamilton has shaped this beautiful work using traditional mass structures and drawing on a range of sources and traditions. In doing so he has created a distinctly Aotearoa New Zealand choral work incorporating te reo and the sounds of te whenua. This is the second time this work will be performed publicly.

There will also be door sales.
